4 Slots Of Ram In Laptop
- So my Laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK, i got it back 2016, on task manager it says it is got 4 ram slots but when i open the panel on the back i visibly only see 2 ram slots, no they don't stack and would they be deeper on motherboard or under more panels? And second question i am not sure if this is the right laptop i bought when i lok up.
- And I got RAM question, shall I put the memory sticks in SLOT 1/3 or stay with my current setup 2/4? Intel Core i7-4790 3.6g 1150 Asus Maximus VII Hero Z97 DDR3 1600 CORSAIR VENGEANCE LP 16GB (2X8) 240PIN DDR3 1600 SAPPHIRE RADEAON R9 380 NITRO 4GB DDR5 CRUCIAL BX100 250GB SATA3 SEASONIC 860W PLATINUM ACTIVE PFC:).
- As you can see, this computer has a total of four memory slots, although only two are currently being utilized. Use the CPU-Z utility. Another way to get information about memory slots and details about the RAM currently installed on your computer, is to use the free CPU-Z third-party utility. Open an Internet browser and visit the CPUID website.
My laptop is a Samsung NP300E5C-A07US running windows 8 64 bit In task manager for win8, i see that memory says slots used 1 out of 4, which is currently 4 GB, but when i opened my laptop i can only see two.

4 Slot Ram Laptop
This is sort of a reassurance question since I'm just about to upgrade my RAM. Right now I have both sticks next to each other instead of in a 1-3 or 2-4 configuration. Every time I boot my PC, a reminder pops up saying to put them in 1-3 or 2-4 for optimal performance but when I do that and turn on the PC, all the hardware switches on but the boot up won't initiate which I assume is the BIOS not starting. Do you know if its faulty RAM sticks or something else like a motherboard problem?
